One of my favorite sites EuroCheapo.com put together this chart covering the baggage fees charged by 21 different carriers that cross the Atlantic. Packing light means saving more than ever. You’ll get one free bag for your European vacation or U.S. vacation depending on which direction you are traveling, after that, the fees get stiff, then stiffer.
Most of the second checked bags come in priced at between $50 and $80 depending on whether passengers get to pay in dollars or euros. Don’t even think about bring a third bag — that can set you back northwards of $200 when faced with having to pay the fee in euros. Heaven forbid!
