American Airlines adding international routes from New York’s JFK airport

American Airlines is expanding its international service to and from New York this spring. It’s inaugurating three additional routes between John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and San Jose, Costa Rica; Madrid, Spain and Manchester, England.

The flights to Costa Rica will begin on April 6th; Service to Madrid will start on May 1st; Service between the Big Apple and Manchester will begin May 13th.

This increases the number of international destinations American serves using JFK as its base to thirty-one. You’ll be able to fly American to nine cities in Europe; 18 destinations in the Atlantic, Caribbean and Latin American regions; three in Canada. Plus, there is a  daily nonstop flight to Tokyo.

Booking connecting flights to and from JFK plus cities accessed through American’s oneworld® Alliance partners will enable passengers to fly American to hundreds of worldwide locations.

Jim Carter, American’s vice president – Eastern Sales Division said, “These new flights are perfect additions to our sparkling, state-of-the-art JFK Terminal – a major international gateway that provides best-in-class service and amenities for our premium and coach customers from our New York hub.”

So when trying to get here from there, American will provide added alternatives for travelers. And the flights will be a boon for New York City tourism, in addition to giving business travelers another transportation choice from which to choose.
