Man arrested at Large Hadron Collider claims he’s from the future
A time tourist was reportedly captured in Switzerland outside of the Hadron Collider. Claiming that he had traveled back in time to prevent the new collider from destroying the world, the man was captured when his time machine malfunctioned. H.G. Wells would be proud.
Mr Cole was seized by Swiss police after CERN security guards spotted him rooting around in bins. He explained that he was looking for fuel for his ‘time machine power unit’, a device that resembled a kitchen blender.
Police said Mr Cole, who was wearing a bow tie and rather too much tweed for his age, would not reveal his country of origin. “Countries do not exist where I am from. The discovery of the Higgs boson led to limitless power, the elimination of poverty and Kit-Kats for everyone. It is a communist chocolate hellhole and I’m here to stop it ever happening.”
Canon, Olympus, and Nikon unveil App-e-ture: the app store for your digital camera
Three of the major camera companies have formed a joint venture, CON (get it? Canon, Olympus, Nikon), to market a new series of apps that will be embedded in digital cameras of the future.
The new app store is to be called App-e-ture and allows users to force their camera into taking images like a pro and is sure to help gain ground on phone cameras that many believe are damaging compact camera sales.
The three companies are hoping that the new service, which will be available on most cameras over the next couple of months via a firmware update, will bring a new lease of life to photography and photographers who are hoping to do something different without years of experience.
