What we're watching: Ryanair's packing video, Brian Williams groped, British immigration control, airlines' coach attitude

Some of these videos are hard hitting and some of them are hitting back at recent travel stories in the news. Ryanair gives the students that mutinied because one of their group had to pay for excess luggage a lesson in packing. Brian Williams confesses to an encounter with TSA. And two British comedies take swipes at the airline industry and immigration that seem awfully close to below the belt.

Packing light courtesy of Ryanair
Days after a Ryanair had some 100+ students escorted off of a flight from the Canary Islands to Belgium over a dispute about an an oversize luggage fee Ryanair is offering the students a lesson on packing.
The YouTube video features a “master packer” packing what’s labeled as enough clothes for a two-week holiday into a small carry-on bag.
Evidently with tongue firmly in cheek Ryanair said the tutorial will help avoid unpleasant situations such as the incident on the flight from Lanzarote in the Canary Islands to Brussels, Belgium.

Brian Williams claims he is groped by TSA
During an interview that ran over the period of strong passenger disgust with the new TSA enhanced pat-downs, Brian Williams confesses to an indecent encounter with a security officer.

A strong British spoof about flying in coach
This video leaves me with a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. It certainly is not fair to flight attendants, but after boarding an international flight, walking through business class and finding my worn seat with a broken tray table and reading lamp that didn’t work and audio plug that was intermitant in the back of the plane, I realized that this was exactly how airline executives are treating coach passengers and that their attitudes toward us may be somewhat aligned with the flight attendant’s in this video.
