What we're watching: Spanair's Christmas surprise, Air New Zealand's safety video, Travolta and Newton-John on Qantas

In this roundup, we see a unique Christmas gift from Spanair to their passengers, a safety video from Richard Simmons that should make you smile and a clip of John Travolta and Oliva Newton-John on the launch of the Qantas 380 service to LA.

Individual gifts on the Christmas Eve baggage carousel
On Christmas Eve, Spanair surprised their customers with individually wrapped gifts that rolled off the baggage carousel. In a thank-you orchestrated by Spanair’s advertising agency, Shackleton. The agency segmented passengers into one of 12 groups based on customer data from Spanair. Each group received a different gift based on age, sex and professional status. How’s that for a good Merry Christmas? Hats off to Spainair.

Richard Simmons tells Air New Zealand passengers how to be safe while traveling.
As contributor Karen Cummings, who sent this to me, asks, “Is this good?” Some Qantas Airlines staff complained about the Travolta safety video that is in use on that airline, but no hoots from the peanut gallery yet complaining about Richard and his exercise gig.
