It’s always fun when I discover something really clever tucked away in a nuts-and-bolts website. Fairmont Hotels, not known as a hotbed of humor, but rather a place where many of the sultans, sheikhs and excellencies of the world choose to stay, has a simple drop-down menu in their reservation form that brought a smile to my face.
At first, when I clicked on the drop-down menu for title, I paused, then laughed out loud. Normally, the choices of titles are Mr., Mrs., Miss., Ms., Esq. and maybe Dr. On the Fairmont website, when a customer making a reservation clicks on title, they get a listing fit for a king, or princes, or queen, or duke, or …
It’s a cute touch to an otherwise boring procedure. And heck, who couldn’t enjoy being a big cheese for a day. (I wonder if that title is in there?) Here’s the Fairmont title list. Next time you make a reservation, have some fun.
