Slow speed, faulty warning system blamed in Asiana crash
Asiana Airlines and US investigators said the likely cause of the crash were the pilots were flying too slow and an inadequate warning system that should have alerted them in a report to the NTSB.
“The probable cause of this accident was the flight crew’s failure to monitor and maintain a minimum safe airspeed during a final approach,” Asiana Airlines said in its report to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
The airline also blamed what it called “inadequate warning systems” for alerting the flight crew that the auto-throttle had stopped maintaining the set airspeed.
15 best U.S. spots for kids
Looking for a new place to take the kids? Gogobot put together a list of spots for both kids and adults.
And the best in the U.S. for kids? That would be the Exploratorium on Pier 15 in San Francisco.
The interactive learning lab features 600 exhibits.
“The slogan at the entrance says ‘Touch Everything,’ making it more like a giant playground than a museum,” Katz said.
Plus, there’s an evening event for adults only on the first Thursday of each month, with a cash bar and film screenings in addition to the exhibits. See? Fun for everyone.
