What we’re watching: “Fleshmob” against strip search in Berlin, a new scanning system in Canada, the way it used to be

Don’t like being stripped naked by “whole body imaging” machines or “body scanners”, and then groped to determine whether what they see under your underwear is a padded bra, a mastectomy prosthesis, a menstrual pad, an adult diaper, … or plastic explosives? You could sign this petition … and/or you could organize your own “fleshmob” like this one at Tegel Airport in Berlin. (More links including videos of similar fleshmobs at other airports here.) This Canadian scanner doesn’t have the problems of using x-rays and does not create an anatomically correct image of passengers bodies. I wonder if it has been considered by TSA for deployment in the U.S.?

I know I used this once before, but I needed something that could bring some levity back to this search subject. This is the way it used to be in the good old days. It still brings a smile to my face.
